Lorraine Meyer

1927 - 2021

 Rose Lorraine Meyer, affectionately called Lorraine, beloved wife of the late Casper Meyer, passed away in Taber on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the age of 93 years.

 Due to the COVID-19 restrictions a private burial service was held at the Highwood Cemetery, High River on Thursday, January 14, 2021, where Lorraine was laid to rest next to Casper. 

 Lorraine is survived by her only daughter Judith Rose (Harold) Jensen of Taber; grandsons Jack Thomas Evans Jr. (Jackie), Randall Scott Evans (Randy, the Cow Pie Kid); granddaughters Tamara Rose Paris (Tambones) and Kristie Lynn Clewes (Kristie Pooh). Cass and Lorraine adopted a baby girl they named Debra Gail and her half brother Robert Ernest when they were newborn babies. Due to unfortunate circumstances, and through no fault of their own, the whereabouts of Deb and Bob are unknown. 

 She was predeceased by her soul mate and eternal companion Casper Hendrik Meyer who died September 15, 2015, a brother Ernest Virgil Anderson and a sister Shirley Ramona Ross.

 Lorraine was born May 10, 1927 in High River, Alberta. She was born ten hours earlier than Cass who was born in Calgary. Lorraine was born to Ernest LeRoy Anderson and Juanita Rose (nee Platt).  

  Lorraine loved to do crafts, go dancing with Cass, snowbird to Yuma and was a huge collector of porcelain dolls. She was an excellent cook and a great house-keeper, not to mention she was a wonderful doting wife and loving, caring mother and grandmother. 

 Lorraine partnered with Cass and together they owned and operated Cass's Family Restaurant in Taber during the mid 70’s. She would get up early in the mornings and make pies for the restaurant and then spend the rest of the day working there. 

 Lorraine was a life-long faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions to include Primary President, Ward and Stake Relief Society President and by Casper's side in many other callings. She served a senior's couple mission in South Africa with him and as an ordinance worker in the Cardston, Alberta Temple. 

 Lorraine has spent the last six years as a resident of the Taber Hospital Long Term Care, suffering with dementia. Prior to that she was a resident of the Good Samaritan’s Linden View for three and a half years. She spent her formative years in Calgary and then upon marrying Casper, she spent the next twenty plus years moving from state to state in the United States while Casper worked in retail sales. 

 Lorraine will greatly be missed by her daughter, Judy and her four grandchildren. However, she is dancing once again with the love of her life, Cass.
