Sandy Petrie

1962 - 2020

Alexander Arthur Petrie, beloved husband of Kerilee Petrie, passed away in Lethbridge on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the age of 57 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue on Thursday, March 12, 2020 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.

The Funeral Service was held at the Taber Civic Centre, 4720 - 50 Street, Taber on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.

Besides Kerilee, his loving wife of thirty seven years, Sandy is survived by his sons Scott (Shara) Petrie of Calgary, Corey (Kasey) Petrie of Taber and their son Rowan, Jamie Petrie of Taber; brother Ross (Liane) Petrie and their children Brandie Williams, Jesse Dean and Brenden Petrie; sister Beth Petrie; in-laws Greg (Renee Neil) Wilkinson.

He was predeceased by his parents Ross and Doris Petrie.

Sandy was born September 23, 1962 in Taber where he was raised. He worked for over thirty five years on drilling rigs, where he was well respected and known for his ability to create a family like culture with his crews. In his time off, Sandy enjoyed spending time with family, especially trips to Oregon, swimming and wrestling with the kids. He also enjoyed spending time out at the lake. We will all miss the man we affectionately knew as the “Big Guy”.
