ROBERT HOWELLS

1941 - 2008

Robert Glyn Howells, beloved husband of Sharon Howells (nee Fettig), passed away with his family by his side at the Taber Health Centre on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at the age of 66 years.
Robert will be greatly missed by Sharon, his loving wife of forty six years; daughter Rhonda (Bob) Wagner and their children Jared and Kayley; son Darren (Melanee) Howells and their children Dustin and Tanya; son Malcolm (Tracey) Howells and their children Colton and Kassidy; daughter Michelle (Jack) Weinkauf and their children Alyssa and Kayden, all of Taber. He is also survived by his adopted sister Verna Howells of Grande Prairie; mother-in-law Monica Fettig of Lethbridge; sisters-in-law Shirley (Leonard) Jensen of Taber and Sheila (Terry) Roth of Coaldale as well as numerous nieces and nephews and by his close friend Steve Hoschajew of Coleman.
He was predeceased by his father Glyn Howells, his mother Mabel Howells Murphy, brother Lynn, sister Rena; father-in-law Joseph Fettig and his loving four legged best friend “Fritz”.
Robert was born in Lethbridge on May 9, 1941 and raised on the family farm at Barnwell. He worked on the rigs, farmed and was self employed, having established R.L.S. Enterprises Trucking Company in 1975.
Robert thoroughly enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, quadding and collecting cars. He loved the time spent at his cabin where he could enjoy the beauty nature had to offer. Most of all, Robert enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and the opportunity to “brag” about them.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, January 18, 2008 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
A private family funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2008. A private family burial will follow at the Barnwell Cemetery.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Robert’s name may be made directly to the Taber Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care Unit), 4326 - 50 Avenue, Taber, Alberta  T1G 1N9.
The Howells family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Beckie, Dr. Torrie, Dr. Wedel and all of the nursing staff at the Taber Health Centre for their care of Robert.
