JEFF GULLEKSON

1973 - 2007

Jeffrey James Gullekson of Peterborough, Ontario, passed away suddenly while working near Vauxhall on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at the age of 33 years.
Jeff is survived by his wife Jennifer and their children, Wade age 6 and Morgan age 4. He is also survived by his mother Elaine Shymko of Kitchener, Ontario, his sister Jennifer (Terry) Edwards of Kitchener, Ontario, by Jennifer’s parents Carol and Brian O’Brien of Peterborough, Ontario and by numerous members of both his and Jennifer’s extended family.
He was predeceased by his father Jim Gullekson.
Jeff was born May 23, 1973 in Calgary where he was raised and received his early years of schooling. He moved to Peterborough, Ontario with his mother and sister as a teenager. During high school at Peterborough Collegiate & Vocational School, Jeff made many life long friends and met Jennifer, whom he married July 6, 1996 and had two beautiful children with.
Following high school and several jobs in unrelated fields, Jeff pursued a career in the trucking industry, referring to himself as a Specialized Heavy Haul Transportation Expert. He grew up around trucks as both his mother and father were in the industry. Jeff was not just any truck driver. He was proud, professional and enjoyed learning from others. We are thankful for the outpouring of support from the many people in the industry that met or worked with Jeff throughout his career.
Jeff had a zest for life. He loved spaghetti utensil night dinners, midnight wetsuit tobogganing and he enjoyed golf and water skiing. He will be fondly remembered by many wonderful friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, January 11, 2007 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Friday, January 12, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. with Susan Bowyer of the Parkview United Church in Vauxhall, officiating.
