A private burial service was held at the Taber Memorial Garden prior to the funeral service on Saturday, September 8, 2018.

The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 11:00 A.M.

Sharon is survived by her son Kyle (Tiffani) Jensen of Salt Lake City, daughter Shari (Darwin) Roscoe of Red Deer; grandchildren Kristin, Shae and Joel; step grandchildren Kate and Cameron; granddaughter Kaylee; siblings Reg (Luella) Easthope, Bryan (Karen) Easthope; brother-in-law Robin Leigh; sister-in-law Sharon (Garth) Hughes; brother-in-law Norman Bullock; as well as numerous special uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and long time friends.

She was predeceased by Gary, the love of her life; her parents Mary (nee Brooks) and Loren Easthope and by her sister Lori Leigh.

Sharon was born in Taber on November 30, 1939. She spent her school years in Taber and had many fond memories of fun times in high school with her siblings and lifelong friends. She often talked of sports teams, dances, teenage shenanigans and bands she played in. Sharon married Gary Jensen in 1959 and they had many happy adventures together. They lived in Conrad, Rimbey, Taber, Fort Nelson, back to Taber, Pincher Creek, Stavely, Lethbridge, then back to Taber again.

Sharon had a passion for music. She started playing the organ for church when she was fifteen years old and continued this pattern wherever she went for fifty years. At every gathering you would find Sharon at the piano with everyone around her singing, whistling, playing another instrument with her or just simply tapping their toes. She brought a joy to everyone she would meet with her music. Sharon and Gary spent many years playing in a dance band together, The Four Jacks.

Sharon loved to laugh and loved to make those around her laugh. Her humour was infectious. Everyone gravitated to her because she brought pure joy to those around her. Sharon adored her grandkids, and she made sure everyone knew it! Her and Gary spent hours on the road travelling to see their little joys of sunshine. Sharon spoiled them rotten and they loved her dearly. Until the day she died, even as young adults, they loved to cuddle their grandma on the couch.

Sharon had strong belief in the gospel and lived her life accordingly. She would drop anything to help a friend or relative in need. In her final days she looked forward to seeing her beloved Gary again and had no fear of passing.
