1926 - 2017

Magdaline Cecilia Hutchinson, passed away in Taber on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the age of 91 years.

The Funeral Service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. A private burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.

Mag is survived by her daughter Linda (Paul) Gregus of Taber and son Rod Hutchinson of Pincher Creek; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Gus (Shirley) Fritz of Pincher Creek and Ron (Linda) Fritz of Calgary; sisters-in-law Erma Fritz of Medicine Hat and Ethel (Del) Boggart of Calgary.

She was predeceased by her husband Alex; parents David and Catherine Fritz; brothers and sisters-in-law Joe (Frankie) Fritz, Tom (Ida) Fritz, Mike Fritz and Dave Fritz; sisters and brothers-in-law Chris (Leo) Ell, Helen (Pete) Allen and Catherine Fritz; infant sister Francis Fritz.

Mag was born to David and Catherine Fritz on July 24, 1926 in Foremost to a big family. Later in life, she married Alex Hutchinson on November 22, 1942 in Bow Island. Eventually Mag and Alex settled in Taber where they had their two children, Linda and Rod. Mag started as a cook in the Taber Hospital and furthered her education to become a Dietary Technician. She worked at the hospital until her retirement, just before the new hospital was built. It was there, where she met many good friends. After retiring, mom could enjoy her love of playing cards, going to bingo with her daughter and granddaughters, bowling, watching soaps, curling, watching her grandsons play hockey and many trips to Reno and Las Vegas. Mom was an excellent mother and grandmother and for everyone’s birthday she made their special meal which varied from hot dogs, to cream chicken, to roast beef and yorkshire pudding, to dumph noodles and sausage. Mom was the happiest when she had family come to visit and cooked for them.

She will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren.
