Victor is survived by his daughter Marilyn Hildebrand of Edmonton, son David (Hilda) Hildebrand of Leduc, grandson Steven, granddaughter Katherine (Devon) Opden Dries, granddaughter Deanna (Ty) Andres, and great-granddaughter Nora Andres. He is also survived by two brothers George Hildebrand, John Hildebrand; two sisters Mary Hansen, Betty Hildebrand; and sister-in-law Olga Hildebrand as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many other friends.

Victor Hildebrand was born on January 3, 1924 in Gnadenfeld, Russia. At the age of one year his parents immigrated to Canada. They lived in Kitchener, Ontario for a short time, and then made their way to Reesor, Ontario where they lived for about five years.

After the family left Reesor, they made their way to southern Alberta settling in the Grassy Lake area. Life continued on the farm and in 1935 his father passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly from appendicitis. Even during hard times, his faith was very important to him.

Love struck in 1954, and he married Anna Willms from Virgil, Ontario. They were blessed with two children, Marilyn and David. They retired to Coaldale in 1989 and both enjoyed music and singing. Victor sang and played violin with the Chapel Singers for many years, till his health would not allow it.

In April 2012 he moved to Sunny South Lodge in Coaldale enjoying his time there, knowing many of the residents from many years ago. In December 2015 it became evident that he would need to start dialysis and then moved to St. Therese Villa in Lethbridge. Victor entered his Heavenly Home on Sunday, July 2, 2017 surrounded by his family.
