Dora Thomson
1914 - 2017
Eudora Thomson (nee Meldrum), passed away quietly in Raymond on Saturday June 3, 2017 just four months shy of her 103 birthday.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the church prior to the funeral service on Saturday, June 10, 2017 between 9:30 A.M. and 10:40 A.M.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taylor Street Chapel, 4 Street West 2 Street North, Raymond on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. Burial followed at Temple Hill Cemetery.
Dora is the beloved grandmother of Ward Lund, Sheila (Blair) Layton and Kathy (Craig) Jones.
She was predeceased by her husband George, two children Jacqueline Lund and Guy Thomson, granddaughter Deanna "Dee Dee" Lund, parents and siblings.
Dora was born in Magrath on September 23, 1914. She was the sixth of eight children born to Bryan and Josie Meldrum. Dora married George Albert Thomson of Raymond in 1933. She worked for almost thirty years as a nurse’s aide in the Raymond Home. Dora loved to cook and was famous for her delicious desserts and wonderful homemade, “Grandma T buns". She was a devout member of the LDS faith and loved genealogy, family history and Temple work. Dora loved to listen to uplifting music and read good books. She also enjoyed beautiful flowers and working in the garden. Dora served everyone and anyone. Service was her life.
