He was predeceased by his wife Connie; brothers Bruce and Barry; sister Shirley (Ed) Williams, granddaughter Pamela Barnard and great grandson Aiden Russell.

Dennis Allan Wilford was born on October 13, 1926 in Lashburn, Saskatchewan. Even though he grew up during the hard times of the great depression, he had fond memories of his childhood days building forts and camping with his brother and best friend, Bruce. Though he often expressed regret at not being able to pursue further formal education past grade nine and training at the technical institute in Saskatoon, he provided for his family and worked hard to better their lives. Over his lifetime, he sold auto parts, cars, insurance, farm fuel and fertilizer. Dennis also worked for the Alberta Wheat Pool and as a short order cook. Up to the end of his life, Dennis had a keen interest in history, current affairs, travel, baseball, curling and golf. As well he enjoyed reading and doing crosswords. The last few years he learned to use the iPad so he could Facetime with family members. He was known for his sharp wit and brutal honesty, though this sometimes got him into trouble. Dennis was extremely proud of his wife, four daughters, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and was often overheard telling others about their accomplishments.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Dennis’s name may be made directly to Shriners Hospitals for Children - Canada, 1003 Decarie Boulevard, Montreal, Quebec H4A 0A9 www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org.
