Dad was born June 22, 1930 in Prelate, Saskatchewan. He worked for CP Rail for thirty five years until he retired at age fifty five for health reasons. This gave him time to enjoy his passions of wood working, gardening, camping and spending time with family and friends. No matter where he went he could strike up a conversation with anyone, even sitting on a bench in the mall. Roy’s other passion was playing the accordian wherever and whenever he could. Dad and mom enjoyed volunteering. They volunteered at the hospital for ten years and dad was a pastoral care minister for ten years with mom by his side. Roy enjoyed visiting with family, friends and loved when his grandchildren would visit him.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Roy’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, Box 2211, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 4K7 www.heartandstroke.com.
The family would like to thank Dr. Beckie and Dr. Armstrong for the wonderful care that they have given dad over the years.
