Don Harding

1929 - 2016

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Donald Owen Harding, who went home to be with his beloved late wife Patricia Jean Harding on Christmas morning, Sunday, December 25, 2016 at the age of 87 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the church prior to the funeral service on Friday, December 30, 2016 between 10:00 A.M. and 10:40 A.M.

The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 54th Street Chapel, 5314 - 54 Street, Taber on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.

Don is survived by his six children Terry (Twyla) Harding of Calgary, Phillip (Renee) Harding of Airdrie, Linda Nesting of Coaldale, Debbie (Steve) Hill of Pocatello, Idaho, Barbara Harding of Calgary and Michelle (Darrell) Vedres of Lethbridge; nineteen grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

He is also survived by his sister Fay Gibson of Denver, Colorado, sister-in-law Catherine (Larry) Henry of Cochrane, sister-in-law Ruth-Anne Johnson of Taber and by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Pat Harding, parents Earl and Ruby Harding, seven sisters, five brothers, son-in-law Dale Nesting and granddaughter Viki Johnson.

Don was born in Taber on June 18, 1929. He was the second youngest of fourteen children. He graduated high school in 1948. Don married his sweetheart Patricia Johnson on March 12, 1953. He worked along side Pat for many years as they operated Pat’s Flowers and Harding’s Sporting Goods in Taber while raising their six children. Don loved his dear wife Pat, his family and music. He will be in our hearts forever.
