FUNERAL SERVICE AUDIO RECORDING

Carly Peterson

1980 - 2016

Carly Brooke Peterson, passed away in Calgary on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the age of 35 years.

A private burial service was held prior to the funeral service at the Barnwell Cemetery.

The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Barnwell on Monday, August 8, 2016 at 11:00 A.M.

Carly will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her mother Gwen Thomas of Taber; father Randy Peterson of Barnwell; sister Janna Kunz of Taber and children Aynsley, Ashton and Alera; brother Jared (Abish) Peterson of Calgary and son Liam. She will also be remembered by her aunts and uncles, Dee (Bonnie) Peterson of Lethbridge, Jay (Marilyn) Peterson of Barnwell, Joanne O’Sullivan of Lethbridge, Harold Wescott of Calgary and by numerous cousins.

She was predeceased by her grandparents Glen and Mabel Peterson and Jerold and Thelma Wescott.

Carly was born in Lethbridge on December 8, 1980. She grew up in Barnwell and attended Barnwell School. In 1998 she graduated from W.R. Myers High School in Taber before moving to Lethbridge where she attended Lethbridge Community College where she studied Business Administration. Carly then moved to Calgary where she attended SAIT. In 2002 she graduated as an Electrical Engineering Technologist and soon after gained employment with O’Rourke Engineering Ltd. where she was employed until the time of her passing.

Carly loved to travel. She experienced many places around the world, some of which she did on her own, which surprised many of us as she was quite reserved.

Carly enjoyed the great outdoors and being active. She tried to get out and do as much as possible; camping, paddleboarding, surfing, snowboarding, hiking, running races and many more. Being an Auntie gave Carly great joy and she loved to share her adventures with them. She was the fun Auntie as she always had something planned, rain or shine.

Carly’s other great love was volleyball. She played it all year long and on a variety of teams.

Carly was feisty and strong yet quiet and reserved and did not like to be fussed over, qualities which she demonstrated especially over the last two weeks of her life. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
