It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Evelyn Grandmont, our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Marg passed away peacefully in Taber on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the age of 75 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.

The Funeral Service was held at St. Theodore’s Anglican Church, 5120 - 44 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden. A reception followed at the Billy Williams Memorial Hall, Royal Canadian Legion, 5205 – 48 Avenue, Taber.

She is survived by her children, Tracy Perry Murphy of Valle de Bois, Quebec and Cameron (Janet) Perry of Midland, Ontario. She will be missed by her grandchildren John (Alison), Jason (Jennifer), Jared (Julie), Kristen, Grant and her great grandchildren Calvin and Vivian (John and Alison’s children) and Carter and Jada (Jason and Jennifer’s children). Marg is survived by her siblings Ron Williams of Taber, Phyllis (Mel) Mellstrom of Calgary, Vera Telfer of Abbotsford, British Columbia and by numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, other family and friends.

She was predeceased by her siblings Robert, Herb, Albert, Douglas, Stan, Edith, Larry, Edna and several in-laws.

Marg was born in Taber on June 14, 1940 to Billy and Velma Williams and was the youngest of a large and vibrant family. She was a proud retiree of the Taber Police Service, was a Charter Member of Taber Life Line and was avidly involved in St. Theodore’s Anglican Church and the Royal Canadian Legion. Marg and her parents were avid supporters of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Our family would like to thank the Active Care Nursing staff at the Taber Medical Centre. Thank you for caring for and making Marg’s transition as comfortable as possible and thank you for all you do for people like Marg on a daily basis. We would also like to thank Joan and the staff at Clearview Lodge for being a large and important part of her life in the past year. Special thanks to Marg’s niece Judy Williams for her constant love, support, assistance and care. She was a very large and supportive part of Marg’s life.
