Lydia Perini

1933 - 2016

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lydia Perini announce her passing in Taber on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the age of 82 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.

The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.

Besides her loving husband Art, Lydia is survived by their daughter Wendy Perini (Dale Bourque) of Taber; granddaughter Denise (Jack) Ross of Toronto and great grandsons Jackson and Travis Ross. She will be fondly remembered by her brother John (Ann) Slavik and by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son Robert “Sonny” Perini and daughter-in-law Lynne Dorchak; her parents Martin and Jennie Slavik; brothers Milan Slavik and Joey and Marquita Slavik; sisters Betty Kultgen, Ruth Kalvee and Helen Slavik.

Lydia was born in Barnwell on September 8, 1933 and was raised on the family farm until she met Art and they were married in July 1951.

Lydia was a very determined lady who loved sports in her school years and was a great track and field competitor. She loved to camp, fish, golf and help friends and family. There was always an offering of food when you stopped to visit.

Lydia was a very proud wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
