He was predeceased by his parents Art K. and Violet (nee Murphy) Lund, infant brother Douglas Lund, sister-in-law Lorna Lund and brother-in-law Ross Eves.
P.K. was born on August 24, 1934 at the Galt Hospital in Lethbridge. He was raised on the farm One-Seventeen just outside of Milk River, where he developed his love on animals and the land. P.K.’s early schooling took place “just over the hill” near One-Seventeen before he finished his schooling in Milk River.
P.K. worked on the family farm until he began his career in the oilfield in 1962 when he was hired by Dowell of Canada. After twenty six years of working for Dowell, he retired in 1986 only to turn around and work as a consultant/contractor to Dowell and then with Nowsco.
In February of 1973, P.K., along with his wife Johanne, moved out to, as it was affectionately called “The Funny Farm” just north of Taber. Beside his love for Johanne, his family and “dog of the moment”, P.K.’s passion was working in the hay field during the summer months. P.K. was often seen in the field wearing his favorite beaten up and weathered straw hat while he was swathing or baling the hay, something he did until the age of seventy five.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in P.K.’s name may be made directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association, #204, 2323 - 32 Avenue N.E., Calgary, Alberta T2E 6Z3, to the Heart and Stoke Foundation of Alberta, Box 2211, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 4K7 or to a charity of one’s choice.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to P.K.s home care team as well as the nurses and staff at the Taber Health Centre for their skilled and patient, loving care.
