At that time he married the love of his life Doreen Rolph. Together they raised their four children Debbie, Barb, Kevin and Donna. They continued to farm until 2005 when they retired from the farm and moved to Taber. Don did not totally retire as he began working at Paradee Pontiac Buick in sales to occupy his time. Over the years Don loved the game of curling. He won the National Schoolboy Curling Championship in 1954 and was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame in 1998. In later years he would spend some time on the golf course, enjoying many rounds with Jack Peard. Don also enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren in many activities. A special day was driving his 1958 Buick over for his first great grandsons graduation and handing the keys over to him to go for a spin. His most recent highlight was celebrating his sixtieth wedding anniversary in October 2015. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Don’s name may be made directly to the Laura Cemetery Fund, c/o Glen Yellowlees, Box 194, Delisle, Saskatchewan S0L 0P0.
