Dolly leaves to mourn her three children Elaine (Doran) Hirsche Wilkes of Orem, Utah, Garold (Margaret) Bullock of Taber and Diane (Leo) Layton of Taber, daughter-in-law Jean Bullock, fifteen grandchildren, forty eight great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Albert Bullock, infant son Ronald Bullock, son Kenneth Bullock, grandson Curtis Bullock, parents Ernest and Daisy Browning, son-in-law Delynn Hirsche, sisters Sylvia Tufts and Edna Young, brothers Jack and Tom Browning, sisters-in-law Hanna and Jean Browning, brother-in-law Ralph Tufts.

Dolly was born the second of five children to Arthur Ernest Browning and Daisy Hunwick Browning. She grew up in Bow Island and shortly after moved to Taber, where her father opened the Taber Bakery. Mom worked at the bakery helping whenever she could. Her parents both passed away when she was in her mid-teens, leaving her to run the bakery and raise her brothers who were nine and eleven.

She fell in love and married Albert Bullock on July 6, 1934. Together they enjoyed their ready made family. Their first baby was born and died shortly after. Soon they were blessed with four more children Elaine, Garold, Kenneth and Diane. After Diane was born they moved their little family to the Bullock farm east of town. Things were tough and the work was hard. Mom had as many as six hired men to cook for at one time. Her world was shattered on May 11, 1961 when lightening struck and killed the love of her life. After that mom went to Calgary and completed a business course, moved into town and went to work for the Southern Alberta Co-op. When she retired from there, she was often back helping her brother Jack at the bakery.

Mom enjoyed music and would spend hours playing the piano. She loved to sing and sang with the church choir as well as with the Parkside Choralaires. Mom liked to embroider and knit when time permitted. She loved to watch curling (Dad was an avid curler) and she would spend the curling season in front of the television. She also enjoyed a good hockey game on television. She was a wonderful mother and good friend to all. “Always the lady”.

When mom was ninety six we finally convinced her to sell her home and move into the lodge. We, as her family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the management and staff of the Clearview Lodge and the Taber Health Centre for the excellent and tender care she was given.
