Clarence Visser

1954 - 2015

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of “God’s Special Child” Clarence Visser, in Taber on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the age of 61 years.

Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, December 3, 2015 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.

A private burial service was held at the Taber Memorial Garden prior to the funeral service.

The Funeral Service was held at the First Christian Reformed Church, 3902 Heritage Drive, Taber on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 2:00 P.M.

Clarence will be lovingly remembered by his father Klaas Visser of Taber and by his siblings Alan Visser of Taber and his family Rylan Visser and Shayna Visser; Arlene (Harry) Prummel of Taber and their family Renae (Kevin) Nixon, Kristy (Norman) Dekens, and Sean (Alison) Prummel; Ron (Carol) Visser of Taber and their family Lindy Visser (Joey), Tyler (Chantelle) Visser, Lauray Visser, Tori Visser (Keith), Nicole (Dustin) Jeffrey, Dakota Witwer (Dan) and Jessie Witwer; Susan (Kelvin) Wall of Kindersley, Saskatchewan and their family Breanne (Ryan) Poelman, Devon (Rachelle) Wall and Dylan Wall (Paige). He is also survived by numerous great nephews, great nieces and uncles and aunts.

He was predeceased by his mother on April 18, 2015.

Clarence was born in Taber to Grace (nee Kiers) and Klaas Visser on August 30, 1954. He grew up on the family farm where he spent many days mowing the yard, which was his passion. From there, Clarence attended Dorothy Gooder School in Lethbridge where he learned how to read and write. He had various jobs which included working for the Rehab Society, New Way Irrigation, The Shoe Shoppe and Taber Special Needs.

Clarence’s presence was known throughout Taber. He spent many years riding his three wheeled bike, visiting friends and family around town. While at home, Clarence spent many hours playing lego and “working” on his telephone books.

Family was incredibly important to Clarence. He shared a very special bond with his mother Grace and also went on many trips with his family. Clarence especially enjoyed dressing up and going to church on Sundays. A highlight in his life was when he publicly professed his faith in Christ and became an honorary Deacon in the church. Clarence was a very loving and compassionate person who brought joy to everyone he met.

The family would like to thank Taber Special Needs and their staff for the many years of wonderful service they provided. They would also like to thank all those who have made an impact on Clarence’s life. His life was a blessing to all and he will be forever missed.
