The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11:00 A.M.

Besides his loving wife Edie, he is survived by his children Donna (Jason) Haugh of Vancouver, Barb (Scott) Whitelaw of Lethbridge, Donald (Brenda) Grieser of Burnaby, David Grieser of Burnaby, Beverly (Mark) Fester of White Rock and Bruce Grieser of Galloway, British Columbia; grandchildren McKay, Tyler, Landon and Casey Wood, Dustin Bonetti, Delaina Bonetti (Jessie Gregory) and Drayden Whitelaw, Riley and Jenna Grieser, Lesley and Taylor Fester as well as five great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his daughter Joan Wood, son-in-law Brent Wood, parents Louis and Ann Grieser, sisters Hilda Miracle and Kay Banks.

Peter was born to Louis and Ann Grieser on October 28, 1929 in Vanguard, Saskatchewan where he grew up and moved away at seventeen. He ended up in Creston, British Columbia where his older sister resided. He met Edie at the age of nineteen while working as a surveyor at the Mines and Resources in Canal Flats and they were married in Cranbrook, British Columbia in 1950. They moved to Coronation in 1952, working for Atlas Lumber Company. In 1953 they moved to Hays where he ran the lumber company and in 1954 moved to Piapot, Saskatchewan where he managed Atlas Lumber Yard. In 1963, they moved to Taber where the last of their seven children were born. He worked at the lumber yard until 1969 when he became employed with the Taber School Division where he became shop foreman. He was a jack of all trades and there was nothing Pete couldn’t fix. He retired in the fall of 1991 and they spent time in Arizona and the Bahamas. Pete loved to fish, hunt and painted many scenery pictures. Pete had a debilitating stroke in 2005 that changed his life significantly. He’s now at peace and up there fishing with his buddies.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Pete’s name may be made directly to the Good Samaritan Society (Linden View), 4700 - 64 Avenue, Taber, Alberta T1G 0C6, or to the Taber and District Health Foundation, 4326- 50 Avenue, Taber, Alberta T1G 1N9. The family would like to thank everyone at Linden View and Extended Care for their support, love and care.
