Bruce Webster
1957 - 2015
Bruce William Webster, beloved husband of Karen Webster, passed away in Taber on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the age of 58 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the First Christian Reformed Church, 3902 Heritage Drive, Taber on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 2:00 P.M.
The Burial Service was held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 16204 Fort Road NW, Edmonton on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 2:00 P.M.
Bruce is survived by his wife Karen Webster, daughter Danielle (Andy) Makcrow of Calgary and the light of Bruce’s life, his grandson Mason whom Bruce affectionately called his “Monkeyshines”! He is also survived by his sisters Dianne (Len Moss-deceased) Webster and Eleanor Webster of Victoria, British Columbia and his nephew Aaron (Victoria) Webster of Vancouver, British Columbia and by numerous cousins and friends. Bruce has a very special relationship with Karen’s parents Tony and Irene Merkle of Taber. He will also be fondly remembered by Karen’s seven other siblings and their families.
He was predeceased by his parents F.D. Bill and Grace Webster and his brother-in-law Len Moss.
Bruce was born in Edmonton on March 18, 1957 and graduated from Ross Shepherd Composite High. He loved to learn and dedicated the remainder of his life to further education. He completed dozens of courses in addition to attending The University of Alberta, The University of Lethbridge and Ajou University in South Korea. Most recently, he graduated from Mount Royal University with a Bachelor of Applied International Business and Supply Chain Management Degree in 2014.
Bruce was involved with the Canadian Bankers Association, served as a delegate with the Canadian Federation of Agriculture and served as the General Manager for the Alberta Sugar Beet Growers, just to name a few.
Bruce was especially proud of his military service. Having that connection in common with Karen sparked conversation which ignited their relationship leading to the marriage of his one true love, Karen Merkle and they were married in 1999.
Bruce’s final months on this earth were incredibly painful and difficult. Throughout his life, he touched many lives with his quiet, reserved and caring manner. In the end, he did the same during his illness, putting others before himself.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Taber Hospital, the Jack Ady Cancer Centre and the Lethbridge Pain Clinic.
