Grace was born in Stirling on August 3, 1919, the eldest of four daughters born to Harold and Ivy Nilsson. She grew up in Stirling, where she met and later married Boyd Nelson on February 24, 1939. They loved to dance and play cards with friends. Grace and Boyd moved their family to Taber in 1963. Boyd worked at the Sugar Factory and Grace worked for the Sears Catalogue order office, where she retired as manager. In the summer, Dad grew apple trees and Mom planted roses underneath them. In the winter, Mom passed the time doing petit point and quilting for her children and grandchildren. Every new baby was blessed with a quilt from Grandma. She also loved to watch her sons and grandchildren play basketball. Mom enjoyed travelling with friends and she made the best homemade chocolates ever. Grandma Grace was a very special lady and we will miss her dearly.
