Paul was born in Northern Alberta on March 27, 1946. Shortly thereafter, the Giroux family moved to Picture Butte where Paul received his schooling and where he later met the love of his life, Bernice Courtoreille and they were married July 16, 1965. He attended college and studied Automotive Mechanics. He was employed at Perdue Motors in Taber for eighteen years. On June 2, 1987, Paul was given a second chance at life, receiving a heart transplant. After his recovery, he worked for the Horizon School Division as a Native Liason Councillor for more than twenty years. On February 2, 2002, Paul was the recipient of a kidney transplant.
Paul was an avid golfer and you could always find him at the golf course, surrounded by his friends. He will also be remembered for his many years coaching hockey. Most important to him were his grandchildren, the light of his life. Through all of his struggles and his pain, Paul will always be remembered for his smile and his big heart.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Paul’s name may be made directly to a local charity of one's personal choice.
In memory of Paul, his family ask that you take a moment to sign your donor card so that others may have a second chance at life just like Paul did on two occasions.
