Sarah was born on June 24, 1925 in Wymark, Saskatchewan. Her childhood included frequent moves, making it difficult to obtain an education. She tried her luck in business by raising Angora rabbits and turkeys. Prior to marriage, Sarah was employed picking fruit in British Columbia, working at a cafe and as a homemaker for other families. With each new opportunity, she enhanced her skills. She met Bernhard Harder in 1950 and they were married a year later. Sarah and Ben had sixty two years of marriage together. They were blessed with six children, twenty three grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Sarah will be remembered for her independent spirit, the gift of hospitality, talents in the garden, hardwork and thriftiness. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Sarah’s name may be made directly to a charity of one's personal choice.
