NITA HANZEL
1921 - 2014
Minetta Mae Hanzel (nee Whitlock), beloved wife of the late Julius Hanzel, passed away in Taber on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the age of 93 years.
The Funeral Service was held at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Nita is survived by three daughters, Charlane “Chick” (Dave) Andres of Taber, Judy (Gary) Rogers of Peace River, Patricia (Jim) Takahashi of Lethbridge; grandchildren Russelle (Allan) Voth of Peace River, Lonny (Kim) Rogers of Peace River, Carri-Ann (Randy) Martens of Drayton Valley and by the great grandchildren Chantelle Voth, Brennan Voth, Avery Rogers, Lexi Rogers and Anna-Leigh Martens. She is also survived by her brother Bill Whitlock (Sheila) of West Kelowna, British Columbia and by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Julius Hanzel; son Robin Hanzel; parents Allien (nee Stokes) and Lyman Whitlock; brothers Milton Whitlock, Jim Whitlock and sister Dorothy Jean Day.
Nita was born August 20, 1921 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. In 1960, she married Julius Hanzel. They remained in Taber where Julius operated a shoe repair store until he retired in 1993. Nita will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
