1945 - 2014

With great sadness and heavy hearts, the family of Raymond Delmont Bird, announce his passing in Taber on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the age of 69 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, November 27, 2014 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. and also at the church prior to the funeral service on Friday, November 28, 2014 between 10:00 A.M. and 10:40 A.M.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 54th Street Chapel, 5314 - 54 Street, Taber on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Scott Olsen conducting. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Ray will be remembered by his loving wife Betty and his children Lisa (Bachir) Tibta of Calgary and Matthew Bird of Calgary; grandchildren Sandra (Barrett) Anderson and Amber McLeod (Tyler Lexvold); great grandchildren Makayla, Trevor and Dahlia McLeod. He is also survived by his mother Ann Bird; sisters Beatrice (Larry) Carfantan and Linda (Patrick) Fraser as well as his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Leslie Delmont Bird.
Ray was born in Arcola, Saskatchewan on June 14, 1945 to Leslie and Ann Bird. At the time of his passing he was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where during his lifeime he fulfilled many church callings. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, boating, travelling, gardening, building things and had a sense of humour. Ray loved to cook and tease people. His greatest joy was his family who will miss him dearly.
