1933 - 2014

Marlene Mabel McCartee, beloved wife of the late Leo McCartee, passed away in Lethbridge on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the age of 81 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. and also at the church in the Relief Society Room prior to the funeral service on Thursday, November 6, 2014 between 10:00 A.M. and 10:40 A.M.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Brock Campbell conducting. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Marlene is survived by her three daughters and their families, Linda (Greg) Pyne of Taber and their three children Brad (Mandy) Pyne of Taber (Brad’s daughter Brittany, her son Zander and Brad’s son Hunter), Jamie (Kris) Robin of Calgary (their children Carly and Tyler) and Jodie (Mark) Van Beers of Taber (their children Blake, Levi and Kinlee); Diane (Rick) Dongworth of Taber and their two children Sean (Megan) Dongworth of Taber (Sean’s son Carson, their daughter Jacey and Megan’s son Sam) and Devon (Moe) Fournier of Taber (Devon’s daughter Lexi and their son Jonah); Melanie McCartee (Ron Tinordi) of Taber and her three children Lacey Schalk (Landon Nielsen) of Taber (their children Ryder and Luca), Cody (Andrea) Schalk of Lethbridge (their children Hayden and Kaliyah) and Kelsey Schalk (Kevin MacMurchy) of Taber (her son Kellon) and Lacey, Cody and Kelsey’s father Ron Schalk of Lethbridge. Marlene is also survived by her brother Brent (Margaret) Gilbertson of Calgary, sister-in-law Zelma Gilbertson of Taber and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Leo McCartee; son Kelly McCartee; parents Arthur and Esther Gilbertson; in-laws Carl and Usona McCartee; sister Winogene (Paul) Luehr and brothers Dale Gilbertson and Glenn (Jeanette) Gilbertson.
