FERN MALETTE

1933 - 2014

On Tuesday, October 7, 2014, Fernand Albert Joseph Malette passed away peacefully at the Taber Hospital, Taber, Alberta at the age of 81 years.
A private service was held.
He is survived by his wife of fifty seven years, Monique; daughter Lise (Forrest) Lester of Taber; sons Laurent (Kim) Malette of St. Paul and Paul (Kathy) Malette of Red Deer; grandchildren Leyna (Troy), Ashley (Ryan), Mindy (Tom), Tyler (Kimberly), Craig (Shawna) and Krista (Ray), three great granddaughters Autumn, Ava and Parker. He is also survived by his siblings Huguette Lussier and Jean (Margaret) Malette; sister-in-law Anita Malette.
He was predeceased by his daughter Carole in 1966, infant grandson Christopher in 1984, parents Lionel and Rosa (nee Bisson), siblings Roma, Rosella St Amour, Leo, Orient and Oride.
He was born in Notre Dame de la Salette, Quebec on July 29, 1933. Family was his first love, after his family, Fern loved everything mechanical and could fix just about anything. He enjoyed the outdoors and had many “toys” like motorbikes, quads and skidoos. Most recently he took up wheelchair “racing”, as he never lost the need for speed. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
