Norma passed away peacefully with her sister Daisy and her nieces by her side in Coaldale on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the age of 90 years.
Norma was born in Coquitlam, British Columbia on December 10, 1923. She resided in Taber and worked for many years at Carnation and Hostess Foods as a food technician and for General Foods until her retirement.
Norma devoted her life to her family. She helped raise her younger siblings and cared for her mother for many years. Norma was very involved in the lives of her nieces and nephews. She was the favorite aunt to many and a second mother to some. Norma was a fine cook and an excellent seamstress.
Norma loved crafts, curling, golf and rummy. She travelled to Japan, Hong Kong and Hawaii. Most of all, Norma loved her entire family and always supported them. She was kind, generous and loyal to friends and family.
Norma had a great sense of humour and everyone loved visiting her. She provided many laughs during our visits. Norma was much loved by her family and we will always miss her.
Norma is survived by her siblings Katy Kano, Paul (May), Daisy (Jim) Oshiro, Sat (Shirley) and Wayne (Lorraine); sisters-in-law Ty, Yas, Anna Mae and by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
