Bessie Nadiene Nielsen, beloved wife of the late Lawrence Nielsen, passed away in Taber on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the age of 87 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, July 25, 2014 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Barnwell, Alberta on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Scott Nelson conducting. Burial followed at the Barnwell Cemetery.
Nadiene is survived by her children and grandchildren, daughter Charlene (Richard) McClung of Barnwell and their family Kerry (Randeep) Singh, David (Heather) McClung, Jefferson (April) McClung and Jessica McClung; Eric (Nancy) Nielsen of Washington, Utah and their family Kirk (Brittany) Nielsen and Kristy Nielsen (George); daughter-in-law Cathy Nielsen of Barnwell and her family Chris Nielsen (Lisa Perrino), Marcy Nielsen (Dan Kuntz), Jay (Jenny) Nielsen, Matt (Kim) Nielsen and Brad (Danielle) Nielsen; Randy (Leslie) Nielsen of Orem, Utah and their family Megan (Cory) Baines, Kirsten (Tyler) Kizerian, Erica (Grant) Jimenez and Nicole Nielsen; Blair (Michele) Nielsen of Mesa, Arizona and their family Jordan Nielsen, Spencer (Aimee) Nielsen and Kelsey Nielsen; daughter Michelle (Hamish) Elrick of Taber and their family Lisa Elrick and Kieran Elrick. She is also survived by twenty two great grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by her siblings Grant Johnson, Molly McBride, Kelvin (Arta) Johnson, Bev (Virginia) Johnson, Sharon Jonsson, Preston (Maureen) Johnson, Betty (Ralph) Sabey and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Nielsen, her parents Bessie (nee Thomas) and Miles Johnson, daughter Kathleen Nielsen, son Daniel Nielsen and grandson Greg Nielsen.
Nadiene was born in Barnwell on December 26, 1926. She married Lawrence Nielsen on April 2, 1947. Nadiene taught grade school for many years before retiring.
