1919 - 2014

Frances Goruk, beloved wife of the late Jack Goruk, passed away peacefully in Taber on Friday, July 18, 2014 at the age of 94 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to Prayers at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Vincent TuanHa, Celebrant. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Frances will be lovingly remembered by her six children Elaine (Gary) Ash of Edmonton and their children Greg (Joan), James and Heather (Doug) Hurst; Karen Taillefer of Coaldale; Bill Goruk of Lethbridge and his children Chris (Carly) and Gina; Doug (Nevis) Goruk of Lethbridge and their children Robert (Michelle), Kevin and Steven (Chelsey); Neil (Della) Goruk of Taber and their son Jason (Jodi); Denise (Ian) Cole of Taber and their children Kelly (Kelly) and Kevin (Kassidy); seven great grandchildren Zach, Jordan, Maddie, Kash, Ty, Avarie and Hayley (all Goruks); siblings Barbara Marshall, Lawrance (Rose) Denis and Leo Denis; sister-in-law Mary Baroldi, brother-in-law Joe Liboiron and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Rochus and Theresa Denis; husband Jack Goruk; son-in-law Omer Tailleffer; daughter-in-law Linda Goruk; granddaughter-in-law Tiffany Goruk; siblings Mary Liboiron, Tony (Madeline) Denis, Mike (Evelyn) Denis, George (Amanda) Denis and brother-in-law Frank Marshall.
Frances was born December 14, 1919 in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan, the oldest of eight children born to Rochus and Theresa Denis. She had only good memories of the years spent on the farm. On August 6, 1947, she married the love of her life, Jack Goruk and together they raised six children in Taber in their home on 41 Avenue. Frances was a kind and giving person, who always put everyone else before herself. Making sure everyone had “something to eat”, was one of her joys in life. She was always willing to give a helping hand. Family meant everything to Frances and she loved unconditionally.
