PETE PETERS

1925 - 2014

Peter Peters, beloved husband of Susan Peters, passed away in Taber on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at the age of 89 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, July 18, 2014 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Mokwadi Paymann T'dere Basele, officiating. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Besides his loving wife Susan, Pete is survived by their four children Richard (Helen) Peters of Taber, Bob (Wendy) Peters of Calgary, Joyce (A.J.) Needham of Calgary and Gordon (Kim) Peters of Lethbridge; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters Helen Funk and Sara Dyck and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Katherine (nee Weiller) and Jacob Peters, brother John Peters, sister-in-law Tina Peters and two brothers-in-law, Isaac Funk and Henry Dyck.
Pete was born July 5, 1925 in Blumenort, Saskatchewan. He married Susan Ens October 31, 1948 and they moved to Taber in 1949. Pete worked for many years as an Electrician. He later started his own business in 1963 which grew into Peters Home Harmony, a company which still flourishes in Taber today.
Pete achieved lifetime status with the Taber Lions Club. He was honoured with the Citizen of the Year award in 1997 and received the Senior Citizen Award this past January. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.
