FLORENCE CLINE
1919 - 2014
Florence Elizabeth Cline, beloved wife of the late George Cline, passed away in Taber on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the age of 94 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, March 10, 2014 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Arij Langstraat officiating. A private burial service followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Florence is survived by her children Rod (Ida) Cline of Taber, Darleen (Al) Hamper of St. Albert, son-in-law Al Davidson of Taber and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Florence was predeceased by her husband George Cline (1975), her daughter Dorothy Davidson (2011) and great grandson Shaun Davidson (1991). She was also predeceased by her siblings and their spouses Burnice (Ernie) Lindskoog, Lloyd (Eunice) Swap, Lois Booth, Emma (Art) Stewart and brother-in-law Martin Booth.
Florence was born in Hughenden on June 2, 1919 to Victoria (nee Brown) and Charles Swap. She received her schooling at Teat Hills School. She met George Cline and they were married November 6, 1937. They raised their family, living at Amisk and Drayton Valley. Florence and George later moved to Ryley after purchasing the pool hall and the barber shop before George’s passing in 1975. In 1981, Florence moved to Taber to be closer to family. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by those close to her.
