1935 - 2014

Antonetta Huvenaars, beloved wife of Peter Huvenaars, passed away unexpectedly in Taber on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the age of 78 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to Prayers at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Vincent TuanHa, Celebrant. Burial followed at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Netta is survived by her husband of fifty six years, Peter; daughter Marian (Rick) Stamp of Enchant and their family Greg (Sarah) Stamp and their children Hannah, Abigail, Julia and Paul; Aimee (Blake) Klatt, Matthew (Dynae) Stamp and Nathan (Christine) Stamp; son John (Lisa) Huvenaars of Hays and their children Mark Huvenaars and Carly (Cam) Hazell; son Richard (Linda) Huvenaars of Hays and their children Carl and Christina; daughter Pat (Raymond) Friesen of Vauxhall and their children Erin (Jaden) Bettcher and Ryan Friesen. She is also survived by five sisters and three brothers as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her great granddaughter Mary Josephine Stamp; parents John and Petronella Bouw and sister Julia Collins.
Netta was born on July 3, 1935 in Erp, Holland and she immigrated to Canada with her family arriving in Lethbridge in May of 1955. She married Peter Huvenaars on June 22, 1957 and they moved several times within Southern Alberta before settling on a farm at Hays in 1962. Together, they raised their family there with Netta taking pride in her family, gardening and flowers. She loved to bake and was a wonderful cook, seamstress and kept an immaculate house. Netta enjoyed knitting, puzzles, card playing and visiting with her family and friends. They moved to Taber in 2006, where she resided until her passing.
