He is also survived by his Oma Jonker, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and his close friends Jason and Jody Vandersteen and family.
Ron was predeceased by his Paka and Beppe Vis and Opa Jonker.
Ron was born June 22, 1967 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He attended Thunder Bay Christian School and graduated from Selkirk High School. In October 1985 Ron moved to Taber with his family and began working the oil rigs until his health no longer permitted. In 1994 he graduated from the Lethbridge College with his diploma in Civil Engineering, however, his health prevented him from ever working in this field. He also worked as a realtor for a short time. Ron decided to become more involved in the family’s business, Sunnyside Nursery. He loved the greenhouse and had hopes and dreams of one day taking it over. Ron continued to be an active part of the business and resided in Taber until March of 2013. At that time he moved into Legacy Lodge in Lethbridge where he resided until the time of his passing. Ron enjoyed many types of sports including football, hockey, baseball and Nascar racing. He also loved to camp and fish.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Ron’s name may be made directly to the Southern Alberta Renal Program, Lethbridge Dialysis Unit, 935 - 17 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 3E4.
Ron’s family appreciated the excellent care he received from Dr. Wong and the staff at the Lethbridge Dialysis Unit, Dr. Sommerfeldt and staff at the Lethbridge Wound Clinic, Dr. Beckie and staff from the Taber Health Centre, Debbie Virostek and the Taber Community Care staff and the wonderful caregivers at the Legacy Lodge.
