1936 - 2013

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Robert David Collett, beloved husband of the late Barbara Collett, on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the age of 77 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, October 3, 2013 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Burial Service was held at the Taber Memorial Garden, one kilometer north of 64 Avenue on 50 Street, Taber on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 2:00 P.M.
Relatives and friends were invited to join Bob’s family for lunch in the Cultural Hall at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 3:00 P.M.
Bob is survived by his children David Collett (Merle Leader) of Lethbridge, Debbie Stolte of Red Deer, Darlene (Randy) Shaw of Magrath and Marsha Collett of Taber; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Eileen Collett of Lethbridge; sister-in-law Daisy Collett of Taber, brother-in-law Larry (Lynn) Taylor of Taber and numerous members of the Collett family.
He was predeceased by his parents Pheobe (nee Wilson) and Morgan Collett; Barb’s parents Louise and Herbert Taylor; sister and brother-in-law Vivian and Archie Rombough and brother Harold Collett.
Bob was born in Taber on April 23, 1936 where he resided all his life. He married Barbara Taylor on March 14, 1975. Bob worked for the Town of Taber for twenty six years before retiring due to poor health. He enjoyed watching rodeos, especially when his nieces and nephews were participating.
