MARY DEBONA
1941 - 2004
Mrs. Mary DeBona of Taber, beloved wife of Mr. Tom DeBona, passed away in Calgary, after a 3 1/2 year courageous battle with cancer, on Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at the age of 62 years.
Mary was born at Hague, Saskatchewan on February 18, 1941 to Peter and Margaret Braun. She, along with her family, moved to Taber at a young age. Mary received her schooling in Barnwell and Taber and on April 17, 1967 she married Tom DeBona, the love of her life. She worked with Canada Safeway for 10 years and later became a longtime employee of Johnson's Drug. She enjoyed collecting antiques and scouting out garage sales. She also had a love of chicken collectables. Mary will be sadly missed by her numerous coffee friends she so much enjoyed spending time with.
Besides her loving and devoted husband Tom, she is survived by her daughter Susan (Tony) Ries of Redcliff; grandson Ryan (Angel) Cannady and great grandchildren Drayden and Nicholas Cannady and also by a granddaughter Jenny Cannady.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by three daughters Sandra, Marilyn and Peggy.
In keeping with Mary's wishes, a Private Family Graveside Service was held at the Taber Memorial Garden on Friday, January 9, 2004.
