JACOB HOFER

1934 - 2013

Jake Hofer, born on September 15, 1934, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the age of 79 years.
The Funeral Service was held at the Cameron Farms Colony, Turin on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. Burial followed at the Cameron Farms Colony Cemetery.
Left to cherish his memory is loving and devoted wife of fifty two years, Susie. He leaves a legacy of love in his children David (Eileen), Esther (Andy), George (Kathy), Mark (Judy), Glenn (Frieda), Herb (Julia) and Julia (Steve). Jake took great pride in his twenty three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three of his grandchildren and many other relatives.
Jake was born at the Ewelme Colony. He married Susie Walter and moved to Cameron Farms in 1963, where he resided until his passing.
At Cameron Farms, Jake had been field boss for forty four years. He was a man of wisdom, strength, integrity and was committed to his Faith, family and friends in the community. Jake worked hard and had tremendous respect for people who did the same. He was never to busy to take time to do a favour for someone. Jake was always willing to give advice on farming to his children and grandchildren. Many thrived through his mentorship, caring and straightforward nature.
