WALTER GRIGOR

1922 - 2013

Walter James Grigor, beloved husband of the late Josephine Grigor, passed away in Calgary on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the age of 91 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. and also at the church prior to the funeral service on Thursday, August 1, 2013 between 10:00 A.M. and 10:40 A.M.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Barnwell on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Bishop Tyler Johnson conducting. Burial followed at the Barnwell Cemetery.
Walter is survived by his son Ryan (Kitty) Grigor of Calgary and his two children Stacey Grigor and James (Cathy) Grigor (their children Darren, Hunter and Amelia); his son Murray (Olga) Grigor of Coaldale and their four children Taylor, Dreama, Sasha and Max; his daughter Marline (Ken) Grayson of Coaldale and her two children James (Sue) Scott (their children Jandy, Brittany and Trish) and Jonas Scott. Walter is also survived by his brothers Earl (Connie) Grigor and Orville (Marie) Grigor all of Barnwell and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Alice Josephine Grigor; parents Rose (nee Henderson) and Jim Grigor; sisters and brothers-in-law Mildred (Wesley) Cradduck and Evalyne (Aaron) Hansen; brother Merlin Grigor and sisters-in-law Della Grigor and Grace Grigor.
Walter was born on the family farm just north of Barnwell on January 31, 1922. Walter loved life! He loved his wife, his kids and his grandchildren more than can be put into words. His love of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and researching genealogy was just as strong. Walter was always there for anyone that needed help. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends. His health was good to the end with only a few minor issues throughout his life. Walter enjoyed a very full life, making many, many friends along the way. He will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him.
