AGATHA LOEWEN
1939 - 2013
Agatha Loewen, beloved wife of Cornelius Loewen, passed away peacefully in Taber, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the age of 73 years.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, April 12, 2013 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Henry Hiebert officiating. Burial followed at the Barnwell Cemetery.
Besides her loving husband Cornelius, Agatha is survived by their eight children; thirty grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother Elizabeth Enns; four brothers, six sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father David Enns and two sisters.
Agatha was born December 14, 1939 in Durango, Mexico to Elizabeth (nee Siemens) and David F. Enns. At the age of ten, the Enns family settled in Canada. In 1961, Agatha met her future husband Cornelius in Barnwell. They fell in love and were married in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on July 15, 1962. In 1966, Corny and Agatha moved to Vanderhoof, British Columbia where they raised their eight children. She was a faithful wife and mother and devoted herself to her family.
In December of 1998, Agatha suffered a brain aneurysm followed by a massive stroke on January 4, 1999. Although severly handicapped and incapable of coherent conversation, she remained a ray of sunshine and was an encouragement and inspiration to everyone she met. Corny adored her, tenderly caring for her and never giving up hope.
