ISOBEL DREW

1917 - 2005

Mrs. Isobel Margaret Drew of Vauxhall, passed away at the Taber Hospital on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at the age of 88 years.
Isobel was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on March 28, 1917.   She moved to Ronalane as a child then to the Vauxhall area where she attended New West, Kinlock and North Slope schools.  She married Sid Drew in 1943 and together they farmed in the Vauxhall area. Sid passed away in 1952 and with the help of her two sons and hired man Alex Young, she continued to live on the farm until just before her passing.
Farm living was a passion for Isobel.  In her younger days she loved horseback riding and could do farm work along with the best of them. She had a love of all animals from the brown eyed Jersey cow to the border collie sheep dogs. The outdoors was what she enjoyed the most, in particular her yard and garden.
Isobel was one of the founding members of St. Stephen's Anglican Church in Vauxhall. She enjoyed visiting with her neighbours and friends.
Isobel is survived by her two sons Robert Drew and William (Pat) Drew; five grandchildren Robert (Carrie) Anhorn, William (Tammy) Anhorn, Tom Drew, Raymond Drew and Rosie (Mike) Wiggill; four great grandchildren Kassidy Wiggill, Jake Drew, Lucy Wiggill and Kyliegh Anhorn; a niece Arlene (Bill) Parkinson and two nephews Bernard and Lenord Pierson.
She was predeceased by her father Francis Uridge, step father Bob McGregor, husband Sid Drew, mother Alice McGregor and sisters Frances and Gwen.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Sunday, June 19, 2005 from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, 320 - 9 Street North, Vauxhall on Monday, June 20, 2005 at 1:30 P.M. with Reverend Wil Stonehill of St. Theodore's Anglican Church in Taber, officiating. Interment to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
