DARIUS HOFER

1936 - 2012

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Darius Hofer on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the age of 76 years.
The Funeral Service was held at the Cameron Farms Colony on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. Burial followed at the Cameron Farms Cemetery.
Darius was born on July 5, 1936 at Ewelme Colony. In 1962, Darius married Marie Tschetter of Riverside Colony. They moved to Cameron Farms in 1969, where Darius was an active and devoted worker who believed in putting all his strength and effort into the community. He took great pride in all that he did. Darius worked with cattle all his life and has milked cows for the past forty years, even until the day of his passing. He was a kind and loving person who brought sunshine into every home he entered. Darius lived for his grandchildren, as they were the joy of his life. His evening visits to his in-laws will be greatly missed.
Darius leaves to mourn his loving wife of fifty years, Marie; sons John (Rosa), David (Helen), Eli, Edward (Lena) all of Cameron Farms and Jonathan (Colleen) of Edmonton; daughters Christina (Elias) Stahl of Tofield Colony and Margaret of Cameron Farms; twenty four grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Elias, Joe (Susie), Mike (Anna), Paul (Lena), Sam (Mary), Lorenz (Susie) all of CopperField Farms, Susanna (Eli) Tschetter of Starcity Colony, Barbara Hofer of Pinehaven Colony, Elizabeth (Edward) Wipf of Lakeside Colony; uncle Sam Hofer of Cameron Farms; aunts Anna of West Raley, Mary of Estuary, Anna and Rachel of Pinehaven as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Elias and Susanna Hofer; grandson Justin Hofer; in-laws Rebecca and John Hofer.
