WAYNE DROUIN

1965 - 2000

Wayne “Waeno” Paul Drouin passed away suddenly near Taber, on Monday, April 24, 2000 at the age of 34 years.
Wayne was born the son of Paul and Georgina Drouin at McLennan, Alberta on August 31, 1965. At a young age he moved with his family to Fernie, British Columbia where he attended school. Following the passing of his mother, Wayne, as adventurous as he was, decided to travel to various parts of Canada and the United States before going to Slocan Valley, British Columbia where he met his future wife, Kaye. In 1985 they moved to Taber where he worked in the Oilfield for many years and eventually began to operate his own business which he called “Waeno’s Welding”. Wayne loved the outdoors, enjoying fishing and lived life to the fullest, every minute of every day. Waeno’s real passion was for his “toys” including motorcycles and most of all his ski-doo which he rode at any time of the year. Many knew Wayne as a daring person who would push himself and his machines to the limit. Those who knew Wayne also knew the other side to him as well. He was very kind and considerate and was able to talk to any person of all walks of life, and treated every life that he touched as an equal. Wayne will be sadly missed, but dearly remembered by his family and friends.
Besides his wife Kaye, Wayne will be forever cherished by his three children, Danealle Lillian, Megan Evette and Nathaniel Wayne; his sister Sue Ann; his grandmother Dorothy Still (Joe Joss); and his great grandmother Clara Frey. Wayne is also survived by Kaye’s family as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins from both sides of the family.
He was predeceased by his mother Georgina and his grandfather George Still.
The Funeral Service was held at Knox United Church, 4929 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Friday, April 28, 2000 at 3:00 P.M. with Reverend Ken Crassweller officiating. Burial followed in the Taber Memorial Garden.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Wayne’s name can be made directly to the Taber & District Sportsfield Society P.O. Box 4308, Taber, Alberta T1G 2C7.
