EDNA JONES

1915 - 2001

Edna Jones of Taber, beloved wife of the late Richard Jones, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2001 at the age of 86 years.
Edna was born in Taber on March 19, 1915 the daughter of John and Magda Johansen. She was raised in Taber receiving her schooling at Central School. She met Richard Jones who was from Wales, and later married him on September 2, 1939 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 54th Street in Taber. They made Taber their home where they managed the Taber Motor Court Motel. Edna enjoyed many things in life including her Scandinavian heritage and making artwork by doing needle point and cross-stitching. The interest she was most fond of was flowers and gardening. She was very proud of her garden and spent many hours tending her flowers.
Edna was a wonderful mother and grandmother to her family and will be forever cherished by her two daughters, Karen Woods and Linda (Doug) Peterson; her grandchildren, Todd Woods, Jennifer (Austin) Tondevold, Sarah Peterson and Lori Jo Peterson and a great-granddaughter, Rebekah; a brother Orla (Loretta) Johansen and a sister Cleo McLean as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Richard Jones and a brother Vern Johansen.
Relatives and friends were invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, December 4, 2001 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. and also prior to the funeral service in the Relief Society Room of the church from 12:30 P.M. to 1:40 P.M.
The Funeral Service was held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5314 - 54 Street, Taber on Wednesday, December 5, 2001 follow at 2:00 P.M. with Bishop Larry Taylor officiating. Burial took place at the Taber Memorial Garden.
