VERN WILLIAMS
1930 - 2012
Vernon Lloyd Williams, beloved husband of Doris Williams, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the age of 82 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church prior to the funeral service on Friday, July 13, 2012 between 9:30 A.M. and 10:15 A.M.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taber Stake Centre, 4709 - 50 Avenue, Taber on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. with Bishop Ken Holst conducting.
Besides his loving wife Doris Williams (nee Linstead), he is survived by his daughter Victoria (Raymond) Gardner of Taber; sons Paul Williams (Kathleen O’Reilly) of Coalhurst, Joel Williams and Jonathan (Barbie-Jo) Williams of Edmonton; grandchildren James (Tiana) Gardner, Jessie (Edwyn) Ellingson, Braden (Siobhan) Gardner, Jeffrey (Angi) Gardner, Kris, Arlen, Joshua, Owain, Katerina, Matthew and Rebecca Williams as well as nine great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Elizabeth (nee Jones) Williams and niece Janine (nee Williams) Kilburn.
Vern was born on April 28, 1930 in Timmins, Ontario. As a young man, Vern loved playing hockey and baseball. He coached hockey in Erin, Ontario. Vern also loved to golf and enjoyed sharing this past time with his sons and grandsons. He enjoyed a career in sales. Vern started as a young man and sold for a few different companies. He discovered his love for selling real estate and together with three partners developed Moon River Estates, west of Lethbridge. When Vern retired he enjoyed watching hockey, baseball and football games in his community. As his health started to fail, he was glad to have plenty of sports on television to watch.
