REBECCA HOFER

1934 - 2012

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rebecca Hofer, beloved wife of Elias “Alec” Hofer of Copperfield Farms Colony on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the age of 77 years.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Copperfield Farms Colony, Vauxhall on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. Burial to follow at the Copperfield Farms Colony Cemetery.
Rebecca was born at the Granum Colony on November 13, 1934. In 1959 she married Elias Hofer and moved to the Ewelme Colony where she lived for seven years. She then moved to Cameron Farms where she resided for forty four years. A year ago she moved to Copperfield Farms, where she has resided until the time of her passing.
Rebecca was a dedicated church member and lived a selfless life serving the community. She was a very precise, neat and orderly person, always wanting the job done right. These principles she passed on to her children. Rebecca taught kindergarten for sixteen years which she did willingly.
Besides Alec her loving husband of fifty two years, she is survived by her children Barbara, Henry (Ruth), Martin (Susanna); grandchildren Megan, Carl, Grace and Martyna all of Copperfield Farms. She is also survived by her sisters Margaret Walter, Sarah Walter both of Crooked Creek, Alberta, Rachel (Eli) Hofer of Holden, Alberta, Annie Tschetter of Star City, Saskatchewan and Mary (Joe) Tschetter of Wanham, Alberta; brothers Darius (Mary) Walter and Fred (Annie) Walter both of Crooked Creek, Alberta; sister-in-law Esther Walter of Crooked Creek, Alberta as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents David & Rebecca Walter; parents-in-law Elias & Susanna Hofer; brothers David and Henry Walter; brother-in-law Sam Tscetter; nephew Sam Hofer.

God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be.
So He closed His arms around you
And whispered come with me.
You didn’t deserve what you went through
And so He gave you rest.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
