JOHN MCGARVA

1927 - 2012

John Irvine McGarva, beloved husband of Donna McGarva, passed away in Taber on Friday, April 6, 2012 at the age of 84 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Monday, April 9, 2012 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.
Besides his loving wife Donna, John is survived by two sons Alan (Jean) McGarva of Ponoka and three children A.J. (Claire) McGarva - kids Shania, Dylan and Ryan, Annette McGarva - kids Wyatt and Taran and Joe (Toon) Fell; Randy (Cheryl) McGarva of Taber and two children Shane Sinclair and Jay (Mary) Sinclair - child Elena. He is also survived by a sister Minnie Ensign of Pincher Creek, sister-in-law Marion McGarva of Pincher Creek and by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Mina McGarva, twin brother Rob McGarva and brother-in-law Gerald Ensign.
John was born in Pincher Creek on May 7, 1927. He eventually met Donna Copeland and they were married on August 26, 1950. John worked many years in the oil field and also in the trucking industry. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family. John and Donna spent many years in Lethbridge before moving to Taber where they could be closer to family.
