JONATHAN CLARKE
1977 - 2012
It is with great sadness, the family of Jonathan Clarke, of Taber, announce his passing in Edmonton on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the age of 34 years.
A private family service will be held. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden.
Jonathan was recently diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis and faced his illness with optimism and dignity. He spent his last month at the University of Alberta Hospital, with his dedicated mom by his side, awaiting a lung transplant.
Jonathan was born August 10, 1977. He grew up in Taber and graduated from W.R. Myers High School before going on to take multi media at the Lethbridge College. Until his illness, Jon worked as a hotel manager at the Super 8 in Taber. He was very efficient at his job and often worked double shifts to help out the company and his fellow employees. Jon loved going to the movies and had an extensive comic book memorabilia collection. We will remember Jon for being patient, happy-go-lucky, always able to take our kind hearted gests with a laugh and he will be fondly thought of at every family card game.
Jonathan leaves to mourn his passing his parents Marilyn (Keith) Penny of Taber, Donna Clarke of Taber; siblings Jason (Christie) Clarke of Taber, Justin Penny of Calgary, Nychcole Penny of Lethbridge, Chad (Shannon) Clarke of Taber; nephew Carter; nieces Jordyn, Jenna, Rylyn and Tavey. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles Wayne (Geri) Stansall of Souris, Manitoba, Don (Sandra) Penny of Brandon, Manitoba, Glen Penny of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Jackie Clarke (Mark Hattori) of Leduc, Cathy (Randy) Wiesensel of Claresholm, Rob Clarke of Red Deer, Joan Clarke of Airdrie, Wally Clarke of Taber, Shirley Bodin of Red Deer, Linda (Barry) McDonald of Airdrie, Orville Dandridge of Birtle, Manitoba and Pat Clarke of Winnipeg, Manitoba as well as numerous cousins.
Jon was predeceased by his father Richard Clarke; sister Jasmine Clarke; paternal grandparents Larry and Tess Clarke; maternal grandparents John and Marion Stansall; uncles Fran Clarke and Chris Clarke; aunt Debbie Dandridge.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider learning more about organ donation and talking about it with your loved ones.
