Hank was born in Harris, Saskatchewan to Henry and Anna Goerzen and spent his early years there, as well as in Saskatoon. When he was sixteen, the family moved to Vauxhall. Hank was married to his love, Katie Janzen, for sixty years and together they raised six children on the family farm. He also worked at Vauxhall Foods until his retirement, at which time he and Katie moved to Coaldale.
His Christian faith was very important to him and he lived it every day. Hank was an active member of his church and he loved to sing in the choir. He also had a fabulous sense of humour. His dry wit was his trademark.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Hank’s memory may be made directly to the Mennonite Central Committee Suite #210, 2946 - 32 Street N.E. Calgary, Alberta T1Y 6J7 or to the Alzheimer Society for Lethbridge and Area, #402, 740 - 4 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 0N9.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Coaldale Continuing Care for all their care and concern over the years.
