Sharon was born on April 26, 1938 in the City of Lethbridge, the first child of Robert & Lillian Paterson. She was raised and educated in Taber.
Sharon married Nick Czibere on December 7, 1955. They started with nothing and built a life together. Nick’s work in the grain business saw them relocate several times. Over the years, Sharon made homes for her family in Cranford, Taber, High River, Claresholm, Grande Prairie and finally, back in Taber. The places changed but the homes were all the same. Nick made the living and Sharon made it worthwhile. In Sharon’s home, the coffee pot was always on. Conversations around her kitchen table solved most of the world’s problems. Her home cooking solved the rest (brownies, anyone?).
Sharon had numerous lifelong friends and she treasured times spent laughing over a card game or socializing at dances, barbecues and camping trips. With her friends, she served her community with her long time involvement in the Catholic Women’s League and the Order of Royal Purple.
Sharon was first and foremost a wife, mother and grandmother. Though she was heartbroken when she lost her Nick in 1996, she went on to build a life around her family. Again, the kitchen table was the center of her new home. From the joyous chaos of family gatherings to the quiet conversations with one person, she was happiest when her people came to her table... to her. Her favourite kitchen chair faced a wall displaying the most recent portraits of all of her beloved grandchildren. Above this “Wall of Fame” is a quote that reads “A life lived for family is a life worthwhile”. This truly was a reflection of Sharon’s life.
In her final years, Sharon managed numerous health issues with optimism and grace. She never complained. She felt her life had been blessed... with her husband, her family and her friends. Of course, they were the ones who were blessed.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Sharon’s name may be made directly to the Taber and District Health Foundation, 4326 - 50 Avenue, Taber, Alberta T1G 1N9.
