ELSIE VAN OOSTENBRUGGE

1908 - 2000

Elziena Van Oostenbrugge “Auntie”, beloved wife of the late Arend “Ernie” Van Oostenbrugge, passed away in Bow Island on Saturday, March 11, 2000 at the age of 91 years.
Auntie was born in Stellendam, Holland on July 24, 1908 and married Ernie Van Oostenbrugge in Holland in 1949. They immigrated to Canada in the same year and farmed in the Burdett area for a number of years, retiring in 1968. A long time member of the United Church Women, Auntie served as Secretary and also received her thirty year pin from the Women’s Institute.
Predeceased by her husband Ernie on October 30, 1990, Auntie is survived by her brother and sisters Willemijntje, Atie, John (Beb), Rie (Dirk), Sarina (Hans), Bep (From Jan) and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
The Funeral Service was held at the Burdett United Church, Burdett on Tuesday, March 14, 2000 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Jeff Crittenden officiating. Interment followed at the Burdett Cemetery.
